The Kennet Furniture Project began in 1995 with the aim of helping disadvantaged families by collecting unwanted furniture and selling it at a low cost, at the same time as training volunteers and improving the environment. Refurbiz started in 2003 with similar aims but focusing on white goods such as cookers and washing machines. Over the years their work overlapped more and more. They shared a building in Devizes and often shared workloads and supported each other. It was therefore decided to join forces. They moved into new premises in the Hopton Industrial Estate in April 2013. Together, KFR cover all of Wiltshire and Swindon.
- refurbish furniture and white goods so that quality items are available to families with limited income
- revive communities by removing unwanted items, reducing landfill and retraining people with new skills.
We need people to help drive, collect, deliver, clean, refurbish, repair, file, answer the phone... We train people in warehouse logistics, CV writing. interview skills, furniture restoration... See our volunteer page for more information.

Being disabled I have to find a place where I can get things that I need at a reasonable price and I am very grateful that you were able to help me. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to other people that I know.”
