A Year of Provision

A Year of Provision

The KFR Provision Fund was established in June 2017 with the aim of fundraising a ring-fenced pot of money to provide white goods for free to those in crisis. KFR has teamed up with multiple agencies from around the county who have referred their most needy clients to KFR for help. The Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Splitz and the Spurgeons Children’s Centre are just a few named agencies that KFR has been able to help. The referrals are made for crisis situations. Examples include homelessness, as a result of domestic violence, marital/partnership breakup, loss of job, problems with universal credit, mental illness, alcoholism and drug related issues. KFR must raise funds to keep the Provision Fund coffers alive. The team at KFR thanks the Big Lottery, Greggs Foundation, Woodroffe Benton Foundation, Samuel William Farmer Trust, One Stop bags for Causes and the latest contributor, Tesco Bags of Help for their generous participation in this much needed resource. To date the Provision Fund has been able to give to those in need over 200 items of free white goods, with a value of over £16,000. KFR continues to be a safety net for those who need its help the most by supplying vital items of large domestic appliances and furniture – items which many of us take for granted – but a vital lifeline to those in severe deprivation.
